MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

MRI is a painless, non-invasive scan that produces high-resolution images of the inside of the body to assist in a medical diagnosis. MRI technology utilizes a strong magnetic field combined with radio waves to create detailed, cross-sectional images of internal organs and structures. MRI’s do not use ionizing radiation and are safe, painless and accurate.

This exam may help diagnose and detect an array of conditions including tumors, bleeding, injury, disease and infection. An MRI exam can also provide further detail into anomalies found through other imaging methods such as x-ray, ultrasound, or CT scan.

Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Medicine is the use of radioactive material to conduct medical procedures. The most common form of this involves injecting, ingesting, or inhaling radiotracers into the body, and tracking their movement.

Mammography

Mammographs are a useful tool in the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer. Mammography uses low intensity x-rays and compression techniques to visualize small calcifications and other tumour markers.

GI Studies

GI Studies assess the GI tract (esophagus, stomach, and intestine) using fluoroscopy (real-time x-ray technology) or CT.
